CG-100 Character Generator CG-100 Character Generator

 altaltalt

The CG-100 is a PC-based character generator that produces lower thirds, text rolls, text crawls and more. It can import .TGA animations, text files, still images and even display the PC's time.

Any font installed on the system can be used by our character generators, as well as languages (i.e. if using Arabic, Hebrew, etc., text appears right to left - the program itself is in English only). You can create and save as much text as your hard drive allows, and they can be recalled in sequence. Using the Live Operation Mode, the CG-100 can also be used as a live on-screen typewriter.

Q: Does the CG-100 work on a MAC?
A: No, the application was designed to work in a Windows environment only.

Q: Can the CG-100 be used with other switchers?
A: Yes, it can be used as a downstream keyer. The video connection type is dependent on the Decklink™ card that is used with the CG-100. For example, the SDI Decklink™ card will only key SDI and the Decklink Studio™ will only key a composite or component video signal.

Q: Can I install the CG-100 in a PC with Windows Vista™?
A: Yes, it has Vista™ compatibility.

Q: I just purchased the CG-100. How do I install it?
A: Please review the "README FILE" on your CD, it contains the proper installation steps. However, If you would like to review it now, please click this link: CG-100 Installation Guide.

A: No, the CG-100 software only includes a single user license. If you need to install it on multiple machines it will require additional licenses.

Q: Can I re-install CG-100 on a new, different computer?
A: Yes, as long as it is removed from the previous system. The key will need to be reset by Datavideo before you can re-install and re-activate the software. This process will require a minimum of one business day. Please email your 20-digit serial number and full contact details to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Once we receive this information, please allow one business day for us to contact you with confirmation. Calling Tech Support will not speed up the process as key resets are handled by a remote office.

Q: When I activate the software through the SE-800's "EXT KEY" button I am seeing a green flash on the video output, is this normal?
