The Datavideo DVK-100 is a standard definition two camera, live, entry level, stand alone chromakey solution designed for education, small studios, wedding Create virtual studio effects without spending large sums of money, simply by combining a single color background (blue or green is the best.), two video cameras and proper lighting. Available to support either PAL or NTSC video standards, the DVK-100 has three connections and S-Video (Y/C) inputs allowing for dual camera and separate background connectivity. |

Uses S-Video
DV compresses and combines color and luminance information into small data packets for convenient transmission and storage. Decompressing for a chromakey adds cost without quality. A component video signal like S-Video is optimal for chromakeying.
Simultaneously key 2 cameras
With two camera inputs you can seamlessly cut between a full-body shot and a close-up while keeping the same background. The DVK-100 includes a GPI input to switch between sources.
The video signal loops through the DVK-100, so you can monitor each camera before cutting to them.
Q: On the back of the DVK-100, I see dip switches. Do I need to adjust the dip switches?
A: The dip switches on the back of the DVK-100 usually do not need to be adjusted. Dip switches are used to configure the DVK to work in different regions, which are preset at the factory. For a complete explanation of the dip switches please refer to the DVK-100 Manual.
Q: I connected my camera via S-video on camera input #1 but I cannot see it on the composite monitor output. How do I correct this?
A: The DVK-100 monitor outputs must connect to the same type of connector as the incoming signal. For example, if S-video is the input, the monitor output must also be connected via S-video.
Q: The front panel has locked up. How can I reset my DVK-100?
A: The DVK-100 has a feature, which can lock the keypad to prevent changes to the settings. The settings for both cameras can be locked by pressing and holding either camera button for two seconds. When locked, the active camera button will turn amber instead of red.
To unlock your front panel press and hold the "CAM1" button on your DVK-100. When the button color changes from amber to red the keypad will unlock. Once you have unlocked the keypad, it will allow you to adjust the DVK-100.
Note: The keypad lock feature is saved into the DVK-100's non-volatile memory, so powering off the unit will not reset the unit.
Q: I have connected my camera to the DVK-100 but I am unable to see the video.
A: The DVK-100 has an input selector switch for each input. Please make sure the selector is set to the correct input type. For example, S-video is the signal type for CAM1, set the selector to S-video on the rear panel of the DVK-100.
