| HS-1000 Mobile Studio | |
| The HS-1000 includes Datavideo's SE-1000 Switcher with individual input source monitors and the TLM-170 monitor that pulls out and flips up for viewing. |
Q: How do I connect multiple cameras to SE-1000? We have JVC GY-DV550U camcorders with CCU's, but are interested in upgrading to several hi-def camcorders without CCU's in the near future.
A: There are 5 HD-SDI inputs on the SE-1000 switcher which will accept any HD-SDI signal sources. The switcher does not have analog inputs, so all incoming signals would need to be converted if they are analog.
Q: Can this HS-1000 system switch and record in hi-def?
A: The SE-1000 is an HD-SDI switcher, which will switch live HD video. The included recorder only records in DV via a component output of the switcher, but you do have the option of purchasing an HD-SDI recorder such as our HDR-200.
Q: Can the switcher handle hi-def cameras that are not gen-locked together?
A: Yes, the switcher accepts HD-SDI as a native input and can lock the signals via the internal frame synchronizers.
Q: Does it do this internally without gen-lock?
A: Yes, the switcher can either be set for internal or external gen-lock.
Q: Does the package include an audio mixer?
A: No, the SE-1000 switcher is only a video switcher; however, the latency is less than 1 frame of video. By having such a minimal latency, audio can be ran separately via an audio mixer and then paired up at the recorder without causing a lip sync mismatch.
