The SE-500 is a compact and light weight 4-channel analog video/audio switcher with a built-in Time Base Correction. The SE-500 accepts S-video (Y/C) and Composite video signals, making it ideal for small churches, schools, clubs, or pubs – anywhere that you want a low cost, extremely reliable video/audio switcher.
In addition to S-Video and composite Video, the SE-500 also provides component (Y:U:V) output. Features include dissolves, flicker free cuts, wipes, splits, PIP and a color processor. It also has built-in TBC for each channel for seamless switching.
The SE-500 has a quad-view output of the four inputs. You only need two video monitors — one for the input sources and one for the program output. The SE-500 can be manually operated or controlled via RS-232 & MIDI interface. As with all Datavideo products, the SE-500 works on 12vDC or local power.

Troubleshooting
Q: The buttons on my SE-500 are locked up. How can I fix this?
A: Make sure that the correct power adapter is connected to your SE-500 (12V 1.5A). Unplug the power from your SE-500 and plug it back in after a few seconds to see if the issue clears. If not, please contact technical support here.
Q: Why is the output from my SE-500 in black and white?
A: This can sometime be caused by a defective S-Video or composite cable. If the video input preview is in color, check the output cables from your SE-500 by replacing it with another cable.
Q: I want to make my own tally lights for the SE-500. What are the specifications?
A: The power can be DC 5V to 24V. The line current limitation is MAXIMUM 15mA. The resistor value affects the LED's brightness, the larger the value (resistance), the lower the brightness.
Q: Can I disable the effect preview in the quad preview monitor when I´m switching sources with the T-Bar?
A: No, the quad preview output is programmed to show all four input sources and preview any switched effects.
Q: If I have a S-Video and a Composite input going into my SE-500, will both of these inputs show up on the quad preview?
A: Yes, both S-Video and Composite inputs will be displayed on the quad preview output.
