The SE-900 and Live Video Streaming: Its easy! In August of this year, Barry Pousman, Technical Director and his production team at Rocketboom contacted us because they were working on a big project that involved a large media company and live video streaming for the internet. They needed a DV capable video switcher that could accept several computer inputs and output in 16×9.
We recommended the SE-900 and several of its multi-format input cards for their big project. As it turned out, YouTube was the large media company they were involved with, and the alpha launch of YouTube Live was the big project. (The alpha launch of YouTube Live was in September of this year.) It was the first time the Internet based company would be broadcasting live, although Rocketboom has been producing online content for years and has earned the title of one of YouTube’s official partners. Because the event was so close, it was essential that they build a set-up that was easy to learn, use and work with, without taking on the cost and infrastructure of a traditional broadcast studio.
